PERMANENT MAKEUP CLASSES AND DATES

Why take your class with Terry?  First of all, we would like to say that there are many wonderful trainers in our industry.  One thing that sets us apart is that in addition to eyeliner and full lip color, we teach an eyebrow technique that results in a more natural and soft look. The following photos illustrate a client who had lost most of her eyebrow hair.  You can see in the before photo to the very left that she had almost no hair in her brows. The end result looks like real hair. In fact, if you closely analyze the close up of the finished brow to the right, you can hardly tell which is real hair and which is not.  This is considered an "advanced" procedure in our industry. However we teach our students this technique from the very beginning, so that you will have more to offer your clients once you return home and begin offering permanent makeup.  We also charge our clients a higher price for this advanced type of work, and clients are willing to pay
extra for it !!

Another difference in our training program is that students are able to watch all lectures online prior to coming to class in San Antonio. Traditionally these lectures have been given  during class where students take notes. However,  because there is so much information packed into  the lectures, we have  found that some students have had "information overload", and difficulty retaining what was  covered.  Because the lectures are now recorded, the student can watch them several times if needed. We have found that students retain the information and are more prepared when coming to class.

Subjects covered prior to class will include  interviewing clients, medical histories and contraindications, OSHA bloodborne pathogens,  professional liability insurance, professional organizations and taking board certification exams,  demonstration of equipment, needle choices and demonstration of techniques with machines and the Softap hand tool.  Because these are important subjects that are part of the curriculum,  students MUST complete all assignments prior to attending the hands-on portion of the class. No exceptions will be made concerning this requirement.

During the actual hands-on portion of the class in San Antonio, you will be working mostly on live models.  Many trainers  spend days or even weeks teaching theory, skin anatomy,  or having students tattoo pig skin,  but lack in providing models for you to actually work on. Terry feels that being able to work on actual  clients with a trainer by your side is the key to success.  If a student can recite skin anatomy verbatim,  or sit and tattoo pig skin for weeks,  but  doesn't work on numerous models during class, the student will not have the confidence to succeed.

The hands-on portion of the class will include makeup artistry, how to draw beautiful  eyebrows including natural hair simulation which results in a soft and realistic brow,  choosing the correct colors for each client, additional information on medical/health information, contraindications to permanent makeup application, and other information listed in our permanent makeup class curriculum.

Classes are  normally 2 to 3 students to ensure that everyone receives one on one attention. If we have 4 to 5 students, we have an assistant trainer present  while students are  working  with live models.  This is the industry standard for safety reasons, and you simply cannot learn this skill in a large class of people with one instructor present.     Cost of tuition for this class is $2400.00  and includes pigments and other misc supplies . We also provide lunch each day during class.

Please read our section on choosing a reputable permanent makeup school for more information.

Included in the primary class is the OSHA bloodborne pathogens certification.  Terry is also a licensed makeup artist, and includes the  class "All About Eyebrows". Please view our links at the right of this paragraph  for additional information on hotels in the area, enrollment forms, school policy, etc.

We would like to stress that this is NOT a correspondence course. When arriving in San Antonio, students will work on practice materials, then spend the majority of class on live models.

If you would like to sign up for a class, you must complete the enrollment form prior to being accepted. The form is found at the link on the right side of this page.
